Silhouette International Apprentice Training

Find your calling

Silhouette International has always placed great value on us trainees since its founding in 1964. Silhouette currently offers training in eight different skilled trades. The palette ranges from clerk to mechatronic engineer, from tool manufacturing engineer, process technician and IT technician to construction engineer, Surfacing technician and even optician. In addition to that, there is also the possibility of learning the skilled trade of tool manufacturing engineer combined with plastic molding.

We trainees receive thorough training at Silhouette and on top of that, many benefits that make the work fun and motivating. Silhouette has even been recognized by the government for its vocational training program – only a few companies meet the criteria for nationally-accredited training operations, receiving this distinction from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labor.

Not only that, but we are also asked about our own opinion. What is it about Silhouette that WE trainees like most of all? Without a doubt, it's the training and advance training opportunities, our canteen and the good pay.

Why are we doing our training at Silhouette? On the one hand, because we find our respective jobs exciting and interesting; on the other, because our personal impression of the company at the familiarization day or the job interview is what convinced us. How did we even become aware of Silhouette? That is the best thing of all: For most of us, it was friends or family who recommended Silhouette to us. Word gets around when a company is great.

More specifically, Silhouette offers us a Certificate in English, for example, joint trainee days and field trips, team and communications training as well as corporate strategic planning simulation. During our training period, we have the opportunity to get to know many of the different departments and thus the whole company on a rotating basis. Many of us remain in the company after completing our training- That is truly a good sign and – in addition to the Austrian Coat of Arms – yet another real distinction.

Even some of the apprentices who started their internship here ended up working their entire professional lives at Silhouette.

Apprentices’ Project: USB Glasses

Silhouette International regularly presents itself as an employer at various events. Together with our apprentices, we made it our objective to present all our skilled trades in the best way possible.

Our apprentices began a joint project with the idea of creating USB glasses as a special give-away. Bit by bit, all the production steps were carried out by our apprentices themselves and the entire process up to the final acceptance was recorded in a making-of video.

All the skilled trades are represented in this great project and we proudly look forward to presenting the USB glasses with videos of the company, our job profiles and the making-of video as a very special give-away at various events in the future.
