My job at Silhouette International
The glasses come to our department as so-called blanks. We are then responsible for printing colors, patterns, logos and letters on them with the utmost precision. We work with the greatest accuracy and the quality simply has to be perfect when the glasses leave our department. So in all you could say that I am responsible for giving the glasses a “friendly face”.
How I came to do this
After finishing the minimum compulsory schooling, I first trained to be an installer and then also became a nationally certified gas welder. An acquaintance then brought the job opening for a machine adjuster at Silhouette International to my attention. My job requires having learned a metal job as well as accuracy and the capacity for teamwork. I put in my application and was accepted – and that was already more than 13 years ago.
And the best thing
The coolest thing about my job is when I see that our glasses of the brands Silhouette and adidas eyewear are outstandingly well received and sold world-wide and I know that our department has contributed to such a good end product.
