„Something quite big can come from something quite small.“
Sandra van Renterghem
My job “step by step”
It all starts with the budget. Once I know what my budget is, then I know what marketing options I have and which campaigns I can work on. After that comes the business plan. It tells us what we will put into practice later. It is our blueprint, so to speak, for both the Silhouette and the adidas eyewear brands. And of course, there is the daily business – our partners have questions about our products or need our support for advertising campaigns.
Constraints that come with the job
This is where I always tell people: “Forget about the budget!” The budget is, of course, always limited. But you can always convince people, even if your resources are limited. You can achieve great things, even by starting out small. In the Netherlands, we are launching a campaign in cooperation with Pink Ribbon and want to convince as many eye care professionals as possible to participate. It is still a very small thing, but it will grow, have an effect and cause a positive reaction.
The best thing about it
I love my job because there is so much variety. It starts already with Silhouette being so different from adidas eyewear. The point-of sale material, providing assistance to the shops and all the PR work. The latter has changed tremendously due to social media. All the work is incredibly diverse. That’s why it is so much fun for me.
