„It is still a lot of fun.“
At Silhouette International since 1985
I have completed a technical apprenticeship and then passed the craftsman examination. At Silhouette International, I first worked in the metal decoration department and then in surface design. Over time, I became the representative of the foreman and then foreman. In 2003, Silhouette has given me the chance to switch to quality management. I have taken this opportunity and was first trained as a quality manager and then also passed the auditor examination. Since then, I have worked in this field and I still enjoy it a lot.
My activity in concrete terms
An essential part of my job is to accompany the glasses from design to the start of production, including market observation in view of the QM standards. We evaluate possible weak spots and will then also initiate the appropriate corrective actions. We also occasionally encounter market complaints and process them as well. On the one hand, this means that I have to work in the office a lot; but on the other hand it is especially important to be in production a lot as a quality manager. For me that means that I have to visit our site in the Czech Republic time and again.
The coolest thing about my job
The coolest thing surely is that I work very independently and that I can contribute greatly. Another huge advantage at Silhouette International is that the subjects of quality and customer satisfaction have always rated highest at the company. What more could a quality manager ask for?
