Silhouette International is one of the best employers
in Austria and the No. 1 industrial enterprise in Upper Austria
That Silhouette International is a “Great Place to Work” is something employees have known for a long time. Now it’s official. Following an employee survey, the Great Place to Work Institute has assessed the internationally active eyewear manufacturer with headquarters in Linz as such.
This puts us on the prominent list of Austria’s best employers – and we made it onto the list on our first attempt. One look at the assessment for Upper Austria shows that we were able to take second place, making us the “best” Upper Austrian industrial enterprise.
A great place to work – according the institute – is a workplace where there is trust between the employees and their employer, where workers are proud about what they do and enjoy working with others.
Our 1,630 employees at Silhouette International care about their long-term relationships with other employees throughout the world, they cooperate with respect and honesty – both with each other and with customers and partners as well. The criteria used to assess the best employers are credibility, respect, fairness, pride and team orientation – all values that remain at the centre of focus in our day to day actions, for both the employees and the owners.
“Our ‘ family ’ is our 1,630 employees worldwide! We know what kind of an asset they are to us – and we are glad to see that they obviously appreciate the familiar atmosphere in our company,” says Silhouette International Executive and co-owner Klaus Schmied, talking with pride about winning the title “ Best Employer Upper Austria ”. “We thank our employees for this title.”
But it’s more than just the placement. We feel that this confirms our company culture and the results of the employee survey give us an idea of where we can increase our strengths and how to act to make improvements in other areas. For us, more than anything else, the result is stimulus and motivation to continue to work hard at what we do,” says Human Resources Manager Tarek El-Dabbagh.
The result was based on a sample survey of 250 randomly selected employees at Silhouette International. A culture audit of those responsible for personnel management in the company supported the survey results.
